In 2023, we spent a lovely week with my sister, Donna, at their condo on St. Pete’s Beach in Florida. I was fascinated by all the different beach birds and spent quite some time taking photos, hoping to capture something I might one day want to paint.
Fast forward to 2025, when I was looking for my next subject and remembered those photos.
This is the result. I included St. Pete’s Beach in the title because, for me, the painting is as much a memory of a lovely holiday as it is a painting of the birds.
