24 × 30 inches | Oil on canvas | GIFT | Completed June 2024
We went to Coral Bay in 2024, and one of our lovely evening rituals was to stand in the water, drink in hand, and watch the sun set over the low spit.
Many of the youngsters would use this time to skimboard across the shallow water running over the spit. My daughter took this lovely photo of her son standing with his board, and I loved the silhouette against the sunset and the play of light across the different water levels.
I originally painted this one to sell, but his father loved it so much that I decided to gift it to him for his birthday instead.
