This little painting was simply a bit of fun. I had been experimenting with painting water flowing around rocks when the idea came to me to add a touch of whimsy. The crab found a home beneath the rocks, and then along came the albatross, seemingly swooping in to see if it might be on the lunch menu.
Sometimes it’s enjoyable to step away from realism just enough to tell a small story.
This painting was donated to support my sister Carol’s Bali Barong fundraiser – a wonderful cause that I was delighted to contribute to.
