This painting of Canal Rocks in Western Australia has an unexpected story behind it.
I had previously printed a photograph onto this canvas after renovating my bathroom, but I was never completely happy with the result. Once I began painting, I decided to give the canvas a new life.
Using another beautiful photograph by my good friend, Ray Cochrane, I painted this dramatic coastal scene. The sun breaking through the clouds and the light spilling across the ocean is my favourite part of the painting.
Sometimes a second chance turns out better than the first.
