One of my sons had been telling me since 2024 that I should paint this very special photo, but I felt I needed more experience before attempting it. I knew I had to do it justice.
The photo was taken 27 years ago and is one of the last we have of the three of them together, before our tattooed, cheeky, jokey boy left this world forever.
I particularly wanted to get his smirk just right.
What I also love about the photo is the way all three of them naturally fell into almost exactly the same pose, but with their own little differences. It captures each of them so well and makes this a very special painting for me.
