During a winter visit to Eagle Bay in July 2022, it was far too cold for swimming, so I spent a couple of early mornings wandering the beach looking for inspiration instead.
Of the many photographs I took just after dawn, this particular wave and the beautiful red rocks caught my attention. And because my husband, Denis, had mentioned more than once that painting only landscapes was getting a little boring, I decided to add the pelican for some extra interest!
I really love how this painting came together and, although it is available for sale, I have to admit I won’t mind if it stays exactly where it is in our family room for a little longer.
