After resisting Jana’s suggestions that I take her Portrait Painting Course for some time, I finally decided to give it a go. I knew she usually taught portrait techniques using the Old Masters and, while I could appreciate the learning involved, I wasn’t particularly sure what I would do with the finished painting!
So I was pleasantly surprised to discover that, for this course, we could paint whoever we chose. I immediately knew I wanted to use this gorgeous photograph of my husband, Denis, taken when he was in his mid-40s, which I have always loved.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and was very pleased with the result of my first proper portrait. Thank you, Jana, for encouraging me to finally take the plunge.
